Can you help me price the following

I want to put a whole load of stuff on ebay, not sure how to price, if there are any seasoned ebayers who could suggest how much to sell the following, I'd be very grateful:

Tall bookcase (Homebase)

Apple Desktop G4 with flatscreen monitor

Cooker - Indesit dual fuel - stainless steel

Washing machine, not sure what make as it's in garage - cooker and wm have been stored for 5 years but were in full working order prior to this

Pine bed frame - double

Leather bed - single

Reclaimed wood mirror - large

Recordable dvd/video player good make but can't remember at the mo

I think your best bet would be to start them all at 99p and then put a reserve price on each item which is the minimum amount you'd be prepared to take. Don't forget to state cash on collection only for the heavy bulky stuff - don't accept paypal for collection only items.

Look at completed listings to see what they typically sell for.

the minimum reserve is £50 you will not get that for bookcase

as free listings this weekend I would advise starting at the absolute minimum you are prepared to sell for; if you start at 99p you might have to sell at 99p

once auction over send them your mobile phone number so they can contact you alter above as appropriate do not accept paypal for collection only

if collection only give clues as to location ie 10 mins from junction 6 of M6 or 30 mins west of manchester city centre etc

Why no PayPal for collection only? I think you now have to accept PayPal on all transactions. As a buyer I always PayPal collection items, if you pay cash you lose all your protection. I wouldn't bid if I couldn't PayPal.

In theory the buyer could scam you Harder, claim they never collected after all and claim back the payment. And yes in theory, they could insist on Paypal whether you like it or not, anyway.

I don't think this happens very often, but it's very difficult for seller to prove otherwise. Also, you avoid Paypal fees by taking cash instead, so Win-Win.

If you can't face researching completed listings, then I'd suggest listing for the minimum price you think you could stomach receiving.

and paypal for a collected item doesn't really offer the buyer protection does it - in a not as described case a buyer would have to return the item to a seller via courier to prove it had been returned - not possible for many collected items is it, or the cost is extortionate.

harder the reason i do not take paypal for collection is you could come and collect the item then go back on ebay and file a not received dispute i have no proof of delivery so ebay refund you and you have your money and my item; it is a common scam not saying you would do that of course but it happens often enough to stop sellers accepting paypal ( ebay will not accepted signed receipt or anything as proof you collected)

if you paid paypal i would just refund you and insist on cash on collection
