Non-payer (I think!)

I sold an item on the 17th on collection only. The buyer messaged asking when they could collect. I responded by saying basically any time this week. Despite me sending several messages, the buyer has since not responded.

Yesterday, the buyer marked the item as 'payment sent'. There is an eggtimer showing in the place where there is usually a £ sign iyswim.

What does this mean?

I would really like to take advantage of the easter weekend to relist the item as it's getting in the way and I want rid!

Sorry, should have said, the item was listed as cash on collection, and there has not been a paypal payment.

open a non payer case - close in 4 days and only then can you relist

and never take paypal for a collected item btw

The buyer can mark it as Payment Sent when they post a cheque/ postal order.

If you have tried to contact them over a few days, with no response, then definitely start a case.

that wouldn't be the egg timer though - that would show as paid.

I thought it showed as an egg-timer when they did it, and as paid when the Seller confirms receipt?

Buyer has just paid me with an e-cheque (bastards!) and it shows the egg-timer

an e-cheque shows as an egg timer yes, as does a paypal payment sent to the wrong email address. Buyer marking as paid shows as paid, not an egg timer.

Why would someone send an echeque for a cash on collection item, but not collect?

Ramble - you probably made a typo on your listing and the buyer has paid to the wrong email address - have you actually contacted the buyer to ask them how they have paid? You have not had an email telling you they have paid have you.

However - this is irrelevant - tell the buyer to cancel the wrong paypal payment and to bring you cash

Well the system has let me raise as a non-payment. So hopefully I'll be able to relist on the FLW over easter.

fergoose - thanks, have followed the advice on your link, and the correct email was on the listing. I have had 20-odd other sales and payments go through that week without a problem.

I have messaged her asking whether she still wishes to purchase the item, noting that the item was listed as payment sent. She hasn't responded to any messages for over 7 days.

I bet the next time I log in I've got negative feedback from her. She might be able to since she has marked payment sent?

Oh FFS, just looked at her 100% positive feedback, which has comments such as 'non payer and no communication' Sigh.

just get the case opened then -and add her to your blocked bidder list

and don't leave her neg feedback either.
