Do you/will you post outside the UK?

I've had my second message asking for items to be posted out of the UK (Europe) and since originally listing my items I've noticed that some people put "UK bidders only" on listings.

I'm fairly new to selling, and now working my way through my more expensive/branded bits (not mega-expensive... Boden, isabella Oliver) which is attracting more attention than old babygrows.

What do you do? (If you don't mind me asking!)

I don't post outside the UK. It's hard enough making sure parcels reach their destination in the UK, I'm just not prepared to take the risk. I state UK bidders only on my listings too.

Ia lso never bid on items outside the UK, because you never know when you're going to get hit with import tax. A friend of mine bought a jacket for £50 which he thought was a fair price, but then had to pay another £50 to actually bring it into the UK, making it NOT a fair price at all.

no I don't either. you can set up site preferences which state you don't on every list but you can still get the odd request for shipping to Bulgaria Estonia etc which I just ignore.

personally I send anything unless too big or heavy abroad, parcels no more likely to go missing in Germany than here,
you could just quote international signed for

but often good boden etc will sell for more abroad

I'm not a regular ebayer but I don't post outside the UK. Too many opportunities to go wrong.

Some of my stuff only seems to sell abroad. It would never sell otherwise. I don't sell many clothes, btw, instead I sell other types of my old stuff.

I am completely biased about where I will post to.

Good = Japan, Germany, Scandanavia, Spain, Canada, USA.
Sneery nose = Eastern Europe, Italy.

Got something fragile to Australia the other week.

I try to send International Signed for, but don't always insist on it.

I've posted abroad for years and haven't had any problems. I always send international signed for, which probably puts a few people off these days as its quite expensive. Which I suppose could be a good thing. I have a few people every year try to get a cheaper rate of P&P before they've bid and ask for it not to be trackable but I stick to my guns, then both of you are covered in case of a loss.
A few years ago I used to sell loads abroad to the USA but I rarely do these days with Royal Mail price increases.
I only really send clothing items. Wouldn't bother with bulky heavy things as its too expensive and too much bother.

I post all over the world, No different to posting UK.

In the end, I posted one item to Germany and sent it recorded signed for. Fingers crossed it arrives ok! I got twice as much for it (Isabella Oliver wrap top) as the lady really wanted it!

Intl signed for is brilliant, and takes only about 3 days.

Boden will sell for £££s more in Germany than the UK.
