Seller claiming returned item not received :(

I was wondering if anyone could help me on this please?

I bought a radio for my mums birthday, listed as new. Arrived very battered and with no sound.
I messaged seller, who said to send it back and they'd have a look at it.

I posted it back on 8th march, standard parcel (cost me £5.50!) but apparently they have not received it.
The address was a PO box address if that makes a difference?

What should I do now?
I'll get a lost item form from the post office (not sure I believe it was though) but is there anything else I can do?

If you haven't yet, open a case with ebay?

I paid £19 for the radio, and £4.50 postage.
Not massive amount, but meant I had to buy my mum another present

you didn't send it back with a signature so you have no proof that they received it? If so no point opening a case

Just neg them, leave low stars, and use your proof of posting to claim for the lost item with royal mail

and check out their relisted items - I wonder if they will relist it.

Might have to jump thru a few hoops, but should be able to claim that full £19 off of Royal Mail. Small consolation, and won't include the original postage of course.

No I din't send it with signature as it was going to be really costly (kicking myself now though)

Will give a big fat negative for the crappy radio anyway!

Have u tried to claim your money back through PayPal?
They quite often rule in favour of the buyer.
Might be worth a try

you can't file not received because it was received, and not as described ebay will want tracking info to prove damaged item was returned before they will refund the money.

Personally I would open an eBay dispute anyway - you've nothing to lose. They seem to refund the buyer in most cases these days..

you can't tick the 'other' box anymore to type in you want a refund so I dunno - worth asking in the dispute. But the buyer can still claim from royal mail for the lost item - and of course leave damning feedback and stars. That is what I would do. Is surprising how keen to resolve a seller will become after you have left appropriate feedback.

Did you not get proof of postage? That's free, so check your receipt as the postage number appears on the bottom of it usually.

A "no fault" refund isn't guaranteed and it's only at the discretion of eBay. I've never had one in over 13 years of eBay'ing and there doesn't appear to be a definable criteria.
If you start a SNAD (significantly not as described) case, then you'll take a gamble as to whether the "no fault" refund will be applied. In many cases, if not most, eBay ask you to return the item by trackable means and now often provide the returns label for you and pay for the Parcelforce delivery. Basically, this means that you won't lose out on the return postage As you've already returned it, you can't fulfil the criteria for the claim to be completed.

All you can do, is what others have said, leave appropriate DSR stars and feedback, then claim back from Royal Mail.

Hindsight is a marvellous thing but when sending goods back to a seller, it's always advisable to send it by a trackable method because you have to prove safe delivery and receipt.
