First ever listing on eBay. Opinions needed

So, have been meaning to list stuff for years and today in a fit of enthusiasm I listed a brand new with tags top. Originally bought for a tenner, never work with tags. I listed it for auction starting at £7.00 with recorded 2nd class delivery. I just went with my gut and was using the eBay app. Don't think it'll sell but if it does I'm putting everything on as it's easy using the phone.

My questions are: will the starting price of £7 put off bidders? I think it would put me off. Any tips for a total total novice? I've read lots of threads on here. Can't believe I've done this as I've been meaning to do it for at least 10 years. If I don't sell the whole lot is going to charity.

depends what brand it is really. Does it end in the evening, good photos, adequate description?

This weekend is a Free Listing weekend. Don't list anything else until then. You can schedule things for some time in advance of the weekend, then edit them to make them live on Saturday or Sunday evening. You will save on listing fees that way and if they don't sell you can drop the price a bit for the next Free Listing weekend.

I usually list items at the lowest price I am prepared to accept for them. If you list at 99p and only one person bids, it will go for 99p!

£7 with recorded postage means that people will be paying close to what you paid in the shops so I would say that's a bit high. But the beauty of eBay is sometimes you get lucky!

Agree tat you wait til free listing weekends to save a bit of money

I thought if just missed the free listing last weekend? Thanks for letting me know it's this weekend. Is there a fee for using more than one photo?

Also how do I list witha delay in going live? Also, in the details description can you add as many sentences as you want for free?

I'm off to photograph lots of other bits now. Thank you very much for your assistance.

do the listing now but schedule for couple of weeks ahead - it will state you will be charged 6p for this

Then on Sunday night at 8pm ish go to edit the scheduled listing and send it to live auction, thus the 6p fee will be cancelled. As it is free listing again this weekend you won't be charged for starting above 99p either. Start auction at lowest price you are willing to sell it at.

Clothing you can add more than one picture free so multiple pics showing detail is always a good idea
