first 3 items ive ever listed. auction finishes tomorrow have between 12 and 15 people watching but no bids. would rather give the items to charity than sell for .99 and the hassle of posting. wwyd?

I think many people wait to bid at the last minute, so 12 watchers sounds good to me. I'd leave them.

ToeCap · 03/03/2013 17:42

are they items which are unusual on ebay, hard to find, or are they general things which gthere are thousands of the same on ebay.

Personally, I would let it run as it doesn't look good pulling an auction this late in the day and it shows up i think when you put future stuff on.
Sometimes the 'watchers' are all waiting to swoop and you can make a fortune in the last hour or so of the sale. Watch and wait!

Flojobunny · 03/03/2013 17:43

12 watchers is good. Let it run.

hifi · 03/03/2013 17:44

Don't start at 99p next time. Wait for FLW if you want to avoid listing fees.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 03/03/2013 17:53

Ooh, I have just put a watch on 3 baby coats with every intention of making a bid, I need them. please don't pull them in case they are the ones I'm watching Grin

hifi · 03/03/2013 18:24

ok ticketyboo, you have convinced me :)

Pulling them now would make you a pretty poor ebayer.

LineRunner · 03/03/2013 18:30

When I first started ebaying I was nervous about this, but it's true that most bids go on at the end.

Occasionally you will end up selling something nice for 99p and be a bit fed up about it, but you will probably get good feedback OTOH.

Also make sure your postage charges are spot on if possible, so neither you or the buyer loses out.

fergoose · 03/03/2013 18:39

And make sure stuff ends at 8pm ish - during the day you will get less bidders around.

hifi · 03/03/2013 19:08

does anyone post to po boxes?

exoticfruits · 03/03/2013 19:15

People watch and bid at the last minute-you can have a bidding war at that stage. I never bid before the last hour.

sparkle12mar08 · 03/03/2013 19:19

I rarely bid before the last three minutes! Don't pull it, but start your bidd higher next time or wait for free listings.

Viviennemary · 03/03/2013 19:21

People often leave bidding till the last few minutes. I don't think it's a good idea to pull items before the end of the auction. Make your starting price higher next time. Twelve watchers sounds promising.+

LineRunner · 03/03/2013 19:26

hifi No I wouldn't post anything to a PO Box, certainly not without sending 'signed for'.

I do send to work addresses where that is on the Order Details.

sarahtigh · 04/03/2013 14:18

if the PO box if it is the confirmed paypal address it is fine this is especially true in America and Australia it is fairly standard system you can have upto 6 addresses on paypal

PurpleFrog · 04/03/2013 14:37

I sent an eBay parcel to Northern Ireland a few months ago... to a Parcel Motel! Grin

hifi · 04/03/2013 17:16

loads of people viewed my items,no one bid :(

I'm sorry to read this, I would re-list but get a better finishing time. Always in the evening around 8pm especially on a weekend. Daytime, people are out and about or have other stuff to do.

LineRunner · 04/03/2013 18:51

Yes, re-list, choose an 8-8.30pm finishing time, and check the photos and descriptions are as enticing as they can be!

lljkk · 05/03/2013 07:13

And relist at a higher price, will probably have freelisting the weekend coming.

hifi · 05/03/2013 10:58

thanks, did have a rubbish finish time. will re list.
