600g or 900g Boxed item worth £47-£60, best way to send?

Can I send it Royal Mail 2nd class recorded with extra insurance? How much is extra insurance if it exists at all? I can't find that option on RM Price finder .

Next best seems to be Collectplus with £1 extra for insurance.

No convenient MyHermes shop.

What would you do? Many Thanks in advance.

Not possible to buy more insurance with RM, didn't it used to be? £6 for a 600g item seems silly, argh.

if it is worth £47-60 RM will only pay out the lower value so 2nd class signed for for 600g would be £3.15, only RM option is special delivery next day

I would probably risk it myself at signed for as very little signed for mail goes missing and if it does you will get the £47 so not a huge loss but if you want no risk collect plus is probably the way to go
