buyer has sent message saying they can't pay for item

Buyer has sent me a message saying due to unforseen circumstances they are unable to pay for the item they have won.
It was only a kids clothing item sold for 99p and £2.50 postage so not big amount involved. What is why forward, feel abit mean reporting as non paying bidder as at least thay've let me know, so should i cancel transaction or just leave it as outstanding?

I'd personally just cancel it, so you don't have to pay any fees. annoying, but it saves yo the hassle.
