How long does a buyer have to open a Item Not Received case?

Just that, really. Just got an INR message out of the blue from a buyer complaining about an item not arriving. I checked and it should have arrived on the 16th November (posted 14th November, day after payment).

The buyer has 1000+ feedbacks and it's very low value. I'm going to refund - it's not worth the stress to argue it.

But just out of interest - can buyers really come back at sellers after such a long time? Did he manage to hit me on exactly the 45th day or something?

45 days is the limit - so yep, looks like they did it on the last day

I think it shows the person to be more genuine when they wait, it usually means that they have given the post the longest possible time and waited in the hope that it would eventually turn up.

Do you have proof of postage? You can file a claim with royal mail if you do.

seems a bit suspect to wait that long though don't you think?

Yes, I've got PoP and tbh it's for under a fiver so I'm not so bothered about the money.

It does seem unusual to me.
