Buyer complaining item not received

I am new to eBay selling, December was only my second month of doing so.

7 of my auctions ended last Saturday, I posted all the items on Monday, second class as the listing said. I have had 4 lots of feedback, so obviously 4 items have been received.

One buyer is emailing me as she has not received her item yet and it is for a Christmas present. Whilst I appreciate that must be annoying, is it my fault? Is there something I should be doing about it? She wants me to send her a other one, but I'm not a shop, it was an unwanted item!

Just checking that there is nothing I can do, except claim from Royal Mail when 15 working days since posting are up?

Thanks for any help.

If you sent another one now it wouldn't arrive any quicker, anyway. Does she expect same day delivery or for you to drive it over?

Something posted to me last Saturday only arrived yesterday, so I expect something posted Monday will just barely get delivered on Monday coming.

You'll have to politely ask them to be patient.

She wants me to send one today special delivery - which even if I had one, my post office shuts at 1 on a Saturday and she asked at 2.30.

I'm just going to have to suck up the bad feedback she's going to leave aren't I? She said she thought at £2.50 postage it would be sent first class (despite it saying 2nd class standard). It cost £2.20 to send, 30p for envelope is hardly extortion!

pmsl at buyer's expectations.

Well, if she's so disorganised as to think you were going to send it 1st class and that you can still send it SpecDelivery at 2:30pm on a Saturday (today was last day for that, too), then she may be too disorganised to remember to leave a Neg. Best you can do is grovel politely (and put her on your blocked bidders list for future).

Hmmm 1st class is more than £2.50! Love her expectations.

Don't worry about the negative. Leave polite response and move on. I rarely care about a seller's negs, just their response to it.

1st class is taking at least a week, if not longer, so 2nd class won't be there before Christmas. Don't send another one. If after 3 weeks it doesn't arrive you can refund and claim from royal mail.

Take care it's not cherlcoleno1fan. If it is, don't believe it as I know she has shafted me and another person.

monday was 17th, last day for second class was 18th so in theory it should arrive on monday, 24th

if buyers want 1st class she sould have emailed before paying asking for 1st class and a new invoice ( 1st class is £2,70 for a small packet)

suck up the neg, then just reply politely

sorry it took longer than you thought was posted 17th

she can not open case until day after estimated delivery by ebay anyway so ignore for present

Did you send the items recorded?

Nope not recorded just standard 2nd but that was on the listing. Not cherylcole! I am just annoyed as its not my fault but being made to feel like it is.

Couldn't send another even if I wanted to!
