Scam?

Some bought my listed phone straightaway, but is now requesting I post it to Nigeria, not using parcel force, but internationl Royal mail and he has supposedly added £70!!! to cover this. The paypal noticifcation just says it is pending, not confirmed in my account, and that I have to confirm I have shipped it first. This is dodgy right?
So, how long before I can re-list the phone? Wanted it sold before Christmas Angry

It probably is a scam

The email from Paypal, probably isn't. Check your Paypal account - but not via the links on the email!

Money may be pending in Paypal, but always check with them direct - how long have you had your Ebay / Paypal accounts as they do put a hold on new accounts especially in the more scammed areas of Ebay.

If they have really bought it and paid for it, I'm not sure how you would go about cancelling etc as they have to agree - I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon.

Yes, of course its dodgy if he wants you to confirm its posted before he pays for it!

Although I've no idea how long you have to wait for non-payment before you can re-list.

Yes it is a scam - anything with the word Nigeria and offering you more money is a scam.

I'm not sure how you go about cancelling it but someone will know.

Btw forward the email unchanged to [email protected], first amd foremost and don't click on anything in it just in case.

Yes. Dodgy. I had this. PayPal advise only to send once payment received. I had exactly this. You need to change your settings so your listings are only visible to buyers with a uk postage address.

Thanks. Have spoken to eBay and they've confirmed it's dodgy and say I can re-list straightaway.
Not sure if I inadvertently clicked on his links. Will change settings...

make sure you change your settings to stop foreign bidders, and block bidders without a credit card on file. Make sure you dispatch special delivery or courier to registered paypal address. If collected cash only, never paypal. If buy it now request instant payment

He originally quoted a UK address, but I street-viewed it this morning and it appears to be a church!
And the Nigerian address listed doesn't exist, according to google earth, although the Zip code is Lagos Airport!
Narrow escape, it seems. And I'm hacked off that I've now wasted two days when I wanted to sell this phone before Christmas. Won't be much demand afterwards, I wouldn't think.
