Last thread full so starting new one.
Still time to make a few quid before Christmas.
Could be good for those unwanted presents after Christmas! Grin

Parcel force are being useless although last person I spoke to said it would be collected by driver and re delivered. Hopefully to me this time!
Emailed buyer but no reply, as expected!

Scheduled a few bits today in case it's free listing this weekend! Grin

I was out for most of the day on Saturday so didn't manage to get as much done as I had hoped. I have put 11 listings up - 4 new ones and 7 re-lists. I also photographed a few other bits and bobs so hope to get them ready BEFORE the next FLW - I expect that will be a long one over the Easter Weekend.

I already have watchers on 3 of my items, so fingers crossed!

HorribleMother · 11/03/2013 17:29

Heads up about FLW for next weekend; I wonder if that's because of the imminent rises in RM prices. They are going to impact me quite a bit.

I read about that on MSE, btw, probably good place to get Ebay gossip.

PurpleFrog · 12/03/2013 09:03

Thanks HorribleMother. I'll see if I can start getting descriptions done tonight for the extra items I took pics of on Sunday!

Tortoise · 12/03/2013 12:23

I've just looked at the price changes. It's not going to make working out prices very easy. I much prefer going by weight.
I can see this affecting my business account Sad .

HorribleMother · 12/03/2013 13:51

Apparently a 6x6x6 inch box goes in the small parcel category, I picked that up from MSE thread, too.
I pity the poor PO staff!

Tortoise · 12/03/2013 14:25

All the size info is on the royal mail website.
6" is pretty small (childish snigger!), so most clothing will come under medium parcel?
I may use just second class as a bit cheaper but can't print 2nd class postage labels. Actually, I wonder how it will affect printing your own postage through ebay.

OP posts:
PurpleFrog · 12/03/2013 14:37

Tortoise - I think most clothing will come under small parcel - the category goes up to 35cmx45cmx8cm. There are 2 exceptions to this - the 16cmx16cmx16cm parcel mentioned by HorribleMother and the 45cm x 8cm diameter cylinder which also go as small parcel.

HorribleMother · 12/03/2013 18:01

One can't print 2nd class postage thru Ebay?! I rarely offer anything other than 2nd class.

I think if you do clever/minimal folding a lot of items can go into a small box or jiffy bag that is within the small parcel dimensions.

Do you think someone will have worked this out properly, making sure that it's not too onerous for staff to implement?!

Tortoise · 13/03/2013 13:16

Finally got the laptop back.
It's exactly as described on the listing, no wires missing or any other problems the buyer was claiming.

Phoned Ebay and theres fuck all I can do about it. Even an appeal would result in the same response.

I'm so Angry Angry Angry with Ebay and the seller, lying wanker.

All they said was re-list it. Yeah I can but it may not sell for same amount plus that means more fees.

OP posts:
fergoose · 13/03/2013 13:22

won't ebay give you back your fees from the original sale?

Tortoise · 13/03/2013 13:29

No idea.
I just can't believe a buyer can get away scott free when they have quite plainly lied.

OP posts:
fergoose · 13/03/2013 13:40

at least you got your laptop back and they haven't wrecked it.

Tortoise · 13/03/2013 13:45

Yes, that's true lol.
Will relist it at the weekend.

OP posts:
HorribleMother · 13/03/2013 14:49

Test the laptop carefully, all the same.

roosterroo · 13/03/2013 16:17

Wink

fergoose · 13/03/2013 18:04

you may find listings ending at 8-9pm will attract more bidders. I would end your listings Roosterroo and relist at the weekend when it is free.

Tortoise · 17/03/2013 18:56

Really Shock sold rc tank for £48.50!

OP posts:
lljkk · 18/03/2013 09:08

Ace :).

lljkk · 18/03/2013 09:09

Yesterday, I transferred £500 out of my Paypal to my current account. Most of it already spent (postage, money to DS1 for his sales). Still made me happy. About 120 current listings, hope they sell before flipping postage rates soar.

Pleased that Collect+ has raised their compensation limit to £50.

PurpleFrog · 18/03/2013 10:30

I didn't get anything new listed at the weekend after all, but I have 10 things that finish on Wednesday from the previous FLW and 2 of these already have bids and 3 others have watchers!

lljkk - I have no idea how you manage to have 120 listings on at any one time - I am very impressed! I think my record has been around 30 - and some of these were 30-day BINs.

I did manage to take a large carrier bag to the charity shop last week, and did a large load of ironing on Saturday, so I am making some progress with the decluttering - just not in the eBay direction...
