Item allegedly not as described - what do I do from here?

I recently sold a pushchair and the buyer isn't happy with it, saying it's not as described and that there are 'problems' with it that I didn't acknowledge. I think she's wrong - but have offered a full refund rather than get into a dispute and risk negative feedback etc.
I advertised it as Local Pickup only when selling it but she chose to drive an hour from where she lives to collect it. She is now asking me to pay to have it returned to me - who should pay this? What do I do from here?
TIA

she should bring it back for a refund - it was cash she paid and not paypal? Surely she checked it thoroughly before taking it away?

Thank you for your reply. It was folded and she just took it without looking. I'm feeling really bad about it but as far as I'm concerned I was honest in my description and she is disappointed because she had different expectations.

and she paid cash? sounds like buyer's remorse to me

LexieSinclair · 10/12/2012 14:12

Sorry - yes she paid cash. I had cleaned it really well when I took photos then stored it in an outhouse a week before she took it. She is saying that there was mildew on the seat, which I can't argue with as I suppose it's theoretically possible that could have developed in a week in the cold weather? I should have checked it again but didn't really feel it necessary.
She is also saying that a pedal is missing - even though it is only supposed to and only needs one!
I am willing to refund (though I don't really feel like I need to) but I'm glad I'm not responsible for return costs too.

well - ebay cannot and will not force you to refund her - is up to you what you do to be honest. You could argue she took it in person so you will not be able to refund her any amount as she should have checked it before she took it.

Ok thank you that's really helpful. If she gives me negative feedback there's nothing I can do is there?

no - unless she breaks rules, mentions refund or ebay. just leave a calm response if she does - something like buyer was asked to return for a refund but they refused, or suchlike.

Thanks Fergoose - I feel better now.
