'Removed Buyer Protection Cases'

Morning everyone. I've received an email from eBay regarding the above - but after trawling through seller dashboard etc, am clueless as to what it relates to. I'm guessing its a good thing as the email states that it is to protect my seller feedback but am at a loss. I did have a loon a couple of weeks back who threatened to report me and hoped I would be suspended from eBay forever (serious loon). Could this be in relation to that?

What did the email say?

It's quite a long standard email - I'll try and cross reference screens (on phone) and get the gist:-

'........ This is why we will remove feedback left for you when we know a buyer did not adhere to eBay policies. In the last month we took the following action to benefit your eBay seller performance records ... Removed 1 buyer protection case. These removals were a result of patterns identified by EBay detection systems and cumulative reports from other sellers.......

Ideas?

Years ago I had a seller leave me negative feedback unfairly. (How dare I expect a refund when they didn't bother sending the item!) Turns out they pulled the same trick on a few people, they got reported, removed an their feedback was wiped.

Sounds like they've removed the feedback that your lovely buyer has left for you.

That also happened to me. Buyer 'returned' item which I never received so we had a dispute and she got chucked off eBay as she had done the same thing before.

Ah so could the loon have reported me as she threatened but actually ended up highlighting her own behaviour, if you see what I mean ??

I think it means they have just removed the feedback she left for you as she wasn't complicit with ebay policies.

They do this in cases of non payment, not sure about other situations or if it means anything else has happened to her.

It means a case a buyer opened against you has been removed, so it won't affect your seller dashboard or be a strike against your seller account.

It is to do with seller performance not feedback

Thanks for your replies. I have since checked the nightmare seller's feedback and she has received yet another negative, so I presume this has prompted their action. Grin

Oh well done Fergoose. Sorry, I was wrong.
