Buyer asking for Buy It Now price but there are already bids in place

I'm currently selling an item which has bids on it. Someone has messaged me asking if I have a Buy It Now price in mind. I've looked at customer support and I understand you can't add a Buy It Now price to the listing once bids are in place. Is this correct?

That's right. They'll have to bid like everyone else.

you can cancel the bids and add a buy it now price if you want to - is your choice though, up to you if you want to let the auction run.

It seems fairer to let the auction run, doesn't seem right to cancel bids placed in good faith. Thanks guys.
