Buyer in Germany - help

Hi there

I always state clearly in my listings that I accept UK buyers and Paypal only. THis is because of the huge amount of hassle in organising signed for postage abroad and the huge cost for relatively low value items.

I have now sold a pair of baby trousers for £4 and see that the buyer is in Germany. What do I do? Send an invoide with a huge signed for postage cost? Ditch the signed for service and pray it arrives?

Any advice gratefully received. Thanks.

up to you whether you want to risk it or charge a high amount for your own protection.

but change your settings to prevent foreign buyers in future - just saying it in the auction isn't enough to stop them

I've had good experiences recently selling to Europe :).
I would have thought £12 would cover International Signed for. If they're willing to pay for it, why not?

Have changed settings

Int'l signed for would only be £8.90 but as this is over double the trousers (and as they are well used) I decided to risk it and refund if necessary. Lesson learned. Hope that's it though.

I used to do Europe but had the odd buyer saying that they didn't want to pay signed for as it was so expensive and would only pay normal post. The hassle put me off ebay for months.

postal service in germany is probably better and more reliable than here, if buyer is happy to pay postage, it is really no more hassle to post to Germany you take parcel to PO they weigh they put on postage just like any other parcel

signed for is disproportionally expensive to the rest of world at £5.15 extra

unless you specifically block buyers from abroad they can bid, just add block bidders from countries I do not post to,

I send anything I sell unless huge or more than 2kg abroad, on average no more goes missing or damaged than within UK
