Messaged by winning bidder to say they didn't bid. Advice please.

I had a message from the winning bidder this morning, saying they hadn't bid on the item they 'won't last night, and they have asked eBay to find out if anyone could have hacked into their account.

The item only went for £1.70, so I'm not too bothered, but what should I do now?

If the bidder is telling the truth, the security implications are worrying.

Account may have been hacked I guess? If it has they need to report it to ebay
