EBay advice needed - Rubbish Buyer - Shall I ask for a deposit???

I sold a table last Sunday in an EBay auction, cash on collection. There were a lot of bids and I was pleased with the winning bid. Unfortunately, the winning bidder did not respond until late yesterday after I had sent numerous emails to him and, after I had told him I had opened a non paying bidder case. He sent an email yesterday saying that he worked abroad and could not respond to my earlier emails but that he would like to collect the table today. He has just called to say he now can't collect until next Sunday as he can't arrange transport .. I have asked him to come around anyhow, confirm that he does want it and pay a deposit. Is this a good idea??

He has said he will try and come around but I have got a feeling that he is going to cancel. His EBay history shows that he has only bought a few items of clothing before.

An advice would be appreciated

I wouldn't hang around, just wait the 4 days and close the case, get your fees back then relist or second chance offer

And add him to your blocked bidder list

Thanks for the speedy response fergoose. I think that is the best course of action. Time wasters are so irritating, it would have been easier if he had just admitted I changing his mind.
