Highest bidder has changed her mind - can she withdraw bid?

I'm an ebay novice, so do excuse any stupid questions.

I'm selling my old Stokke pushchair on ebay, with a reserve of £250. In the listing I put that it has wear and tear, but is in generally good condition. Later on, I thought that maybe I should edit it to mention some marks on the seat, but couldn't get past the 'sign in' screen to do so.

So I emailed the highest bidder - who'd bid £250 (for some strange reason - the bid before was £115) - to tell her of the marks, and said I hoped she was still interested. She now says she doesn't want it.

Would it be a good idea, or even possible, for her to withdraw her bid, so others will be more tempted to keep bidding?

Tell her to cancel it. V reasonable under the circs.

Cancel it and start again. Put as many photos as you can.

The person who did the second bid will have bid just under what the person who 'won' bid, that's why her bid looks high in retrospect.

So if you were selling something and you started at $2 (sorry, no pound sign)
Bidder X bids $7 but nobody bids against her so selling is still at $2.

Then bidder Y bids $9 so is bidding against X's $7 so item will sell at $8 as X is willing to pay $7 only.

no you don't need to cancel the auction if it is still running - you just need to cancel her bid.

If you cancel all the bids on it you can amend the description - once there are bids on an item you can't amend it. There is no need to end the auction and start again.

She won't be able to edit her listing now though will she? As there are bids on it already so people won't know about the marks.

There's only six hours left to go, though, so the chances of getting a whole load of new bidders now are slim.

She hasn't cancelled her bid. Are you saying I can do that?
