Would you post to Spain

I'm not sure i want to get into international selling but a potential bidder is asking me to post some items to Spain. They're not massively high value

Should I?

What are the pitfalls of international selling?

What happens if it does not arrive and who do I claim from?

He's been very pleasant and has excellent feedback but I want to know the pros and cons before I answer him so thought I'd ask here

I've posted to Spain twice,as far as I know [touch wood because one was only posted last week] the parcels have gotten there ok.I assume you'd claim from RM if anything went missing,as your contract to deliver is with them.

Watching with interest - I'm new to the world of selling on Ebay (plenty of experience buying ) and someone has asked if I will post to Romania.

I live in Spain. I have never, ever, not received a parcel from England. The post here is really excellent and efficient.

I post abroad all the time have ebay business approx 30% go abroad, no more problems than here

international singed for is £5.15 extra on top of postage, personally I only use signed for univerally at £25 plus,

I use signed for for anything whatever the price to asia and central and south america

post in many countries is as reliable as here australia US Canada new zealand france holland germany scandanavia,

though I have had no problems it does seem that Italy and greece have a bit of a problem with things going missing as so many live in flats with communal halls with all mail left in heap

download postage calulator from royal mail prcie goes up every 100g so weigh accurately

absolute max weight is 2kg ( and they do check so no (2.02kg) length width and height added together 90cm or less so basically a box with sides all 30cm
for airmail

couriers of heavier stuff to near western europe france italy germany etc about £23-28 for upto 5-10 kg

make sure package very secure and if remotely likely to break put in box use parcel tape ( brown or fragile at least 50mm wide)

do not stick address label over seal in case opened by customs and label lost

need customs sticker outside EU and norway, always put your address on outside of box so can be returned

include packing slip printed off from paypal and put inside as that also has your address and recipients address and is proof of value for customs

always put value as exactly what it sold for (thuogh I would put £5 instead of £4.99) and mark as "other" not gift
