Am bidding on a maxi cosi carseat which has no reserve as a low bid of £2 has gone through. If I win (am only bidder with 2days to go) do they have to sell it to me for the price I bid? Seller contacted me saying they wontvsell for less than £20

hi if there is no reserve then im sure they have to sell at that price, if they wanted at least £20 they should have started the bid at that price.

They are meant to sell at the final price, but you cannot force them to sadly.

The seller has now cancelled my bid - is that allowed?

yes - I guess they will either amend or end the auction & relist

Dordeydoo · 25/09/2012 23:18

Auction is still active and no reserve price

and if you try and bid again? Have you asked them why they cancelled your bid?

Dordeydoo · 26/09/2012 11:51

bidded again - went through and then they cancelled it. ive contacted them but no reply

well - I would guess if they are mucking around like this you have had a lucky escape. I would spend my money elsewhere with a decent seller to be honest.

sarahtigh · 26/09/2012 16:58

the lowest reserve can be set is £50 so they could not set a reserve of £20 what they should have done was start listing at £19.99 it would only have cost 50p

you can cancel or block any bidder you like for any or indeed no reason

DanyTargaryen · 26/09/2012 17:02

link to the item and I'll report it, that should come under unfair bidding practices or somesuch
