Query from buyer re whether designer boots are genuine

Hi - I've put some UGG boots on ebay that I was given as a gift last christmas. A buyer has asked if I can prove they are genuine. I don't normally have designer products so don't know if this is possible? I obviously don't have a recepit but they are in original packaging still and have never been worn (they didn't fit ) Any advice please????

Just teller exactly that. You have no reason to believe they are fake

make sure you put security marks on them before you dispatch, plus sent recorded/courier will full insurance

There are a few ways to tell the difference between real and fake Uggs, some of the easiest ways are:

1. Genuine Uggs have their symbol in a recess on the sole of the boot - fakes normally have a flat sole with no recess.
2. Genuine Uggs are sold in a strong, high quality box with a flip top or hinged lid.
3. Genuine Uggs should have a white care booklet with them which has an embossed logo on it.
4. The soles of real Ugg boots are about half an inch thick - the fake ones are usually much thinner.
5. The stitching will be even and perfect on the real Uggs - no double stitches, badly finished edges or uneven lines.

There are other differences too such as the quality of the material, the feel of the sheepskin, the exact shade of the lining etc.... which can be verified by any official stockist.

Fergoose you are an ebay master! You always give great advice. But what is a security mark? Apologies if this is a dumb question

AND as they are getting some decent bidding I WILL pay for recorded delivery. As I've only stated economy delivery, do you think I need to amend listing NOW to state recorded delivery, or wait to inform buyer after the auction is complete...? I would not charge extra for this but would take out of sale monies.

You can mark them with a UV pen somewhere inconspicuous - bit of your postcode or phone number maybe

If they sell for more than £46 recorded won't be adequate to insure them, you will need special delivery or courier. I would amend your listing to recorded at least and also maybe write on the listing that a signature will be required upon delivery.
