Refunding P&P charges

Recently bought an item that I need to return. I say it's because seller had inadequate info in her item description, therefor she should refund P&P charges as well. She thinks I should have asked more questions and won't refund P&P. We're not moving forward. How do I resolve this? Do I open a dispute with eBay or something?

I think you need to provide more details about what info you think was missing. The rule is to assume it's in terrible condition and stinks of smoke, for instance, unless seller says otherwise.

The point is we don't agree about what info should have been provided. So I'd like to take it up with whatever dispute resolution comes next, as we haven't come to an agreement.

And I agree that the cynical 'buyer beware' rule is that you should assume it stinks of smoke, but in reality I'd say if that's the case, the seller should expect to refund the lot. (That's NOT the problem I had.) The seller should assume that most reasonable buyers don't want something that stinks of smoke, and you'll be looking at a lot of refunds and/or neg feedback.

i don't agree you should presume it stinks of smoke!

You can open a case with eBay and return at your expense for a full refund of all of your money - then leave feedback and stars.

Thanks, Fergoose. I'll tell her I will open a case with eBay and I'll return the item. Now, how do I open a case with eBay?? I've bought loads of stuff off eBay and never even had to return something until now. Annoying, but bound to happen eventually, I suppose.

you go to the resolution centre from your account, or select the drop down box next to the item and choose resolve a problem

Found it- thanks.
