Surely I can do this?

Have sold an item which has made rather a bit more than I expected so I am no longer happy to send it standard second class (which is what it says on the listing).

I have let the buyer know that I am going to be sending it special delivery (at my expense) so it will require a signature. They have said they don't want it delivering like that as they don't want to have to wait in for a parcel, but it is pretty clear that there is no way it would fit through a letter box anyway Confused.

They say I am breaking the terms of the auction and I must post out as I listed, surely this is bollocks?

yes utter bollocks - tell them you are breaking the rules of paypal if you don't send it with a signature - you will need online proof of delivery for paypal and if they refuse to agree to this you will refund them in full and cancel the auction.

Sounds to me they may claim item not received and without a signature you won't have a leg to stand on and will lose your item and your money.

Or you could send it Collect Plus to a store then they could collect it - then they won't need to wait in for a delivery at all

Yes, I was thinking they were intending to claim it was not received.

I will offer them special delivery or a refund, but will look into the Collect Plus thing, I have seen it used by companies but didn't know you could use it that way.

Thank you Smile

Also their argument about waiting in to sign for a parcel, surely that is the same as waiting for a parcel without a signature - bizarre :)
