Bought something which I'm now convinced is fake - what do I do?

I was looking online for scarves, and suddenly saw a BNWT Alexander McQueen scarf going for a song, with 5 minutes to go.... Brain did not engage with fingers on keyboard, and I won the item.

After a fleeting moment of being pleased with myself for 'winning', I did a quick google and I'm pretty sure that I've just bought a fake.

I haven't yet paid. What do I do now?

Contact eBay and tell them that you've researched, it doesn't look genuine and you'd like to retract your bid.

Thanks - will the seller be able to leave negative feedback on me?

I don't think so, it's not a transaction if its been cancelled.

All sorted! I reported it, and also contacted the seller to say that I think it's a fake. The seller replied to say that he would cancel the transaction and I just got a cancellation request through - he put the reason as 'customer bought in error' Hmm Anyhow, it's done.
