How can I respond to feedback?

Someone has left me positive feedback, but what they are saying is quite negative. How can I respond to this so that others can see it? I wish the buyer had contacted me first as I would have tried to do somethings to make them happier.

They have taken 5 weeks to leave feedback. So I figure if they really weren't happy they would have contacted me sooner.

Here you go - but why don't you email your buyer first to find out why? Also be careful what your response is - you don't want to sound angry or unapproachable in it - if it is positive I would probably leave it and not draw attention to it by leaving a follow up to be honest. At least they left you a positive after all!

Thanks Fergoose. I was just going to put that I'm sorry they weren't happy and that I wish they'd emailed me sooner. I want potential buyers to know that they can contact me if they aren't happy. Also I'm worried that if I don't say anything people won't be able to trust my descriptions.

Having looked at my star rating though that hasn't dropped so can't really understand it. Surely if they were really unhappy they would have marked my stars down.

I'll admit I'm taking it far too personally, it's just I really do want people who buy from me to be completely happy and if they aren't I'll happily try to resolve it.

They might not have marked the stars at all so that wouldn't have counted

I would email your buyer first and see why they are upset before you respond to the feedback. they may amend it.

Stars don't drop for a day after feedback is left - Ebay try to hide who has left what by doing this.

Agree that commenting will draw attention. Unless you rarely sell, so it will stand out for a while, I'd leave it as well.

It is only the seller who can't leave neg - a buyer still can
