Can he do this?

Bought a number of items from the same seller and asked to combine postage as it's quite high anyway relative to the item
He said he will post items together but will charge x3 lots of postage as he doesn't reduce costs for combining items
Is that allowed? As it's obviously just a way of making cash off the postage?
Seems a bit unfair, but is it against the rules???

it is unfair and against the rules as it was fee avoidance

Also if you pay for each one separately he should actually post in 3 separate parcels, not just one

It is also greed - I would refuse to pay, but then I am stubborn and can't stand greed.

Well I did think about just cancelling, but wasn't sure if I am now obliged to follow through under the rules?
Bit peeved to be honest

Tell the seller, if he wants to charger three lots of postage you expect the items to be posted separately. If he wants to send them as one, you want a combined postage. Or else you will be leaving -ve feedback. He is being greedy.

It is also a rather stupid thing to do, because if he hasn't combined postage via eBay, then he is really required to have three lots of proof of postage. A unscrupulous buyer could claim to have only received ONE item and do chargebacks for the other two, and he wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

You can ask the seller to cancel the transaction

You can also leave 3 negative feedbacks 1 week apart, which will count as 3 negs on his profile, leave them all together they will only count as 1.

Tell him fine, if he intends to send in 3 separate parcels. Greedy twat!

minceorotherwise · 08/09/2012 14:12

Maybe I could put 'greedy twat' on the feedback

yeah he should be sending as 3 seperate parcels then otherwise he will get 3 negative feedbacks .

sarahtigh · 09/09/2012 21:53

i would not put that on feedback as he will be able to get it removed on basis of being offensive

occasionally sellers do not combine as everything is prepacked and just gets an address label so 3 purchases would be 3 packets,

actually 1 star for P&P costs 3 weeks apart will be far more damaging than 1 negative ffedback
