I won an iPhone 3gs for £168. I specifically looked for one which stated 'no cracks' on the case as they are prone to cracking around the charging port. In the Q&A, someone had asked the seller if there were cracks and he specifically said "no cracks". Well, it arrived, and there are two cracks either side of the charging port.
I messaged the seller, he said he had not seen any cracks and asked me to send a photo of the base of the phone. I have replied saying that the largest crack is actually visible in the photo he put on his listing - I had thought it was a reflection.
I'm happy with the phone - I have set it up and it is fine. I don't want the hassle of returning it and having to set up a new phone, but I'm not happy at receiving a phone with damage I was specifically trying to avoid.
I am thinking of asking him for a £20 refund, to buy a new back and get someone to replace it for me - there is a shop locally that will do the work. Would that be reasonable? I haven't suggested it yet - I'm waiting for him to reply to my first message about the photo.
