'New' item arrived damaged, what can I do?

Hi,

I was the winning bidder on a toy for my DS, it was described as new condition. It arrived today with a part broken, which makes the toy unusable.

I have contacted the seller and am waiting for a reply.

Just wondering what my options are really?

Thanks :-)

I would give the seller a chance to put things right, by which I mean a day or two.

If they don't, then you can open a 'Not as Described' case, and you will get your money back, but you will need to return the toy by some form of trackable (recorded) delivery. If you have a good seller, s/he will refund you the return postage.

If the item was damaged in the post, the seller can make a claim against royal mail or the courier.
