Do I amend the listing and put in big letters NO ORDERS DISPATCHED BETWEEN 3/5 SEPTEMBER or just cross my fingers no one negs me? I have half a dozen items on 30-day BIN listings because they are things I produce and sell; have only been doing this for a couple of months so not sure what the protocol is.

How long are you away for? In my experience some people don't read the listing at all but I would still put a warning in there for those that do, and edit your auto 'thanks for your order' email to include something about the delay.

Only three posting days. And I send everything out second class as I don't charge for postage.

I'm sure there is a way of doing this centrally within eBay so that an official message comes up in red on all your listings warning prospective buyers that the seller is away and goods won't be despatched until after x date. I have definitely seen this on things I have looked at. I expect it is only available to business sellers.

you can only use holiday settings if you have a shop.

Argh! Should I just take the listings down and relist when I get back?

It depends what your dispatch time is - if you say you will dispatch within 1 day then yes take them down, or amend them to a longer dispatch time maybe?

PurpleFrog · 30/08/2012 12:19

In that case, I would just amend the listings and leave them up. 3 days is not a long time.......

solidgoldbrass · 30/08/2012 12:39

Thanks, I usually say dispatch within 3 days, so will add a note to the listings on Saturday morning saying that I'll be away.
