'Below global standards' - this isn't fair.

I have had another email form Ebay saying my selr performance is 'below standard'. I have something like 99.5% positive feedback, lots of it saying things like 'Very helpful' and 'Good communication'. OF the two sellers who recently left less-than-good feedback, they did it without getting in touch with me and explaining the problem and I subsequently sorted them both out.
Is it worth telling Ebay to get off my case?

Would they listen?

Your feedback may be positive but how are your star ratings?

solidgoldbrass · 29/08/2012 10:45

Pretty high, mostly 4+.

so some are under 4 and others are in low 4s - that will be why then. What is your lowest star P&P?

solidgoldbrass · 29/08/2012 12:17

Lowest rating is 4.7 for dispatch time, so I really don't think that's too bad.

so you said mostly 4+ - is there any which are under 4?

sgb I honestly despair when this happens. It's all about the star ratings, not the actual feedback, with ebay. But buyers don't always understand that giving less than a 5 star rating is fatal for the seller.

The p&p category is often marked low as a criticism of royal mail charges, yet it's not the seller's fault. Dispatch time can be marked low even when the item was dispatched well within the time stated.

FG: None at all, they are 4.7, 4.8. 4,8 and 4.8.

Hijack, but how does one find the exact star rating (4.6 or 4.8, etc.)? I can just see that mine are high 4s, but I couldn't say where between 4.6 & 4.9.

I used to give 4s, routinely, seemed good enough. I hate the DSR system, who wants to think that hard about the whole transaction unless you hated the seller or feel like raving about them, which you'll write down anyway in f/bk.

I had this problem a while ago and whilst I had 100% feedback I had a couple of low marks for p&p if you want to check where the issue is go to your seller dashboard and look for the detailed ratings as this will tell you how many low ratings you have had over a set period of time (ie one or two star rating). You can also run a report from here as well which shows a breakdown of star ratings by both percentage and count. I found the best way to get it back was to either offer free postage as this automatically gives you five stars or to look carefully at the postage costs I took mine off 1st class to 2nd class as it is cheaper and the items were still arriving in good time and now mine is back up to standard- hope that helps- I did complain to their customer services but just got fobbed off
