Buyer doesn't want collection item - what to do now!

I sold an Ikea chest of drawers at the weekend. It is a wide unit with 2 columns of 3 drawers. The details of size etc was in the listing, plus what I think is a good photo of it but the buyer came to collect it tonight and a) thought it was 2 seperate 3 drawers and b) she couldn't get it in her vehicle!

She went away to talk it over with her hubby and has now decided that she doesn't want it!

No problem as there were 2 underbidders, but do I raise an unpaid dispute or just get her to agree to cancel the transaction first?

I would raise an unpaid dispute if i were you incase she refuses a mutual cancellation. Either way do not relist or offer to an underbidder until any dispute is closed or you could risk 2 buyers and 1 item.

Thanks Fergoose. I just wasn't sure which of the 2 options was the best to use in this case.

They have responded to the dispute so I've made my first Second Change Offer!

have you closed the unpaid dispute already?

I took a gamble and went down the cancel transaction route as with moving house in less than a fortnight I didn't want to wait in case I missed out with the underbidders.

It won't be the end of the world if it has to come with us so we shall see!
