I've been a long time buyer from ebay, and have now decided to dip my toe into the world of selling! Have sold about 10 items of clothes that I no longer like/don't fit my any more.

The thing is, whenever I buy anything on ebay, as soon as I receive it, or not long after, I always log on and provide feedback to the seller. Usually get feedback from them not too long after.

Out of my 10 items that i have sold over the past 3 weeks, only 1 buyer has bothered to leave me feedback! I understand it's custom for the seller to wait until the buyer has given feedback, before the seller leaves theirs.

Just venting really, and wondering where all my feedback is! At least when they leave feedback, I know the damn thing has actually got there! Any other sellers find this with feedback?

no it is not custom to wait for the buyer to leave feedback first, there are no rules as to who has to leave it first - and feedback is voluntary, many people, both buyers and sellers never leave any.

Never chase for feedback, as you may receive feedback which you won't want.

I have just checked back and 55% of the people who have bought from me recently have left feedback.

After a ridiculous experience experience with a buyer recently that ebay didn't help with, I now don't leave feedback until the buyer does. Also that's the general advice if you go to ebay's Seller Central board. So not 'custom' - more people's experience and advice, especially since it became impossible to leave negative feedback for buyers.
