Sold something that was listed as collection only. Ended on the 17th. Buyer arranged to pick up this afternoon.

I have just got a text telling me that she no longer wants it anymore and can I cancel the transaction. I can't open a case for another 2 days.

Do i have to wait and then open a case?

Do I get my fee's back?

GRRRRR!!!!! Angry

You will get your fee back and can do it ASAP - we had similar although our buyer wanted to send a courier despite it being buyer collects, and refused to accept it as a non-refundable item as I was unhappy that she could receive it and say it was faulty or some nonsense to get a refund and I would have to pay for courier back which would leave me out of pocket - common scam I hear. Just wastes everyone's time.

To cancel the transaction you click a button and it asks why it's cancelled, buyer then has to cancel at their end (only after you have) and if they don't it will still cancel but take about 7 days I think.

Ebay live chat help is really helpful IME. Good luck - I'm afraid some people are rude and stupid and they seem attracted to Ebay!

To be honest I would go down the non paying route on day 4, then the buyer gets a strike and you will get your fees back

If the buyer refuses the cancellation request then you will not get your fees back and they can still leave you feedback too.

She has agreed to cancle it her end when the time comes.

Do you get a strike for a case then?

I can wait a few days if thats the case, its really pissed me off! She wanted it yesterday eve!

I see that you can add a comment to original positive feedback about a buyer.

I've got a really nasty buyer at the moment. I left feedback originally saying 'Thanks for prompt payment'. I was thinking about adding underneath, 'What a pity this buyer is unable to understand the concept of fairness, honesty and integrity.' Like you say, Bonkey, makes you feel better...

I think fergoose's advice is good and safe.

no you can't leave a buyer a negative comment on a positive rating - it isn't allowed. Also to be honest if you do leave anything like that, apart from the rap on the knuckles from eBay, I think it makes you look bad as a seller.

The buyer may agree to cancel, then when you send the request could refuse it and still leave you a neg. And you still get to pay the FV fees too.

If you file a non paying case she will get a strike, get your fees back and the buyer can't leave you feedback. Up to you, but I know what I would do.
