Awkward rude buyer, sigh

sold an item couple of weeks ago, stated in the lisiting that item would be sent using collect+

she's just sent me a rude message saying she hasn't got it and hopes I haven't sent it through yodel as they're useless and only deliver during working hours which is no good for someone who works full time out of the home Hmm I tracked it and they have tried to deliver and left a card for her. I've replied giving her the tracking number and explaining about the attempted delivery, that it was sent using collect+ as stated in the listing. I also mentioned I can't be responsible for what time of day they deliver to her!

What now? sheesh Hmm I've sent it, they've tried to deliver it and she's not home but any courier would be the same Confused

She's obvously going to be really awkward, the message was rude and abrubt and it's the first one she's sent - I have 100% feedback and done nothing wrong surely? Sad

and if you had Collect Plus on the listing then she should have investigated what that was before bidding.

maxybrown · 14/07/2012 18:40

quite! Twice now I've made it clear to her that it was sent the exact method stated on the listing, charged only what it cost me etc etc. I can't ring collect+ now until monday. Tbh I just feel like refunding her and not giving a damn about the parcel now I've calmed down - life's too short for this rubbish! La la la, fingers in ears - feeling better already!

I wouldn't engage any more - not worth it. Just refund when you get it back, and add her to blocked list so she can't bid on your items again. It just isn't worth the stress and upset.

tutu100 · 14/07/2012 18:45

Could she not have arranged for it to be delivered to a shop near her. I thought you could do that with collect plus? I have done that before I think.

maxybrown · 14/07/2012 18:46

Nope you are right - I only replied to her email and that was all. I really do think she thinks I'll just pay for it to be re delivered using her chosen method Hmm joy oh joy! Grin

I think there is a cohort of people who try it on and expect sellers like us (mums) to say, 'Tell you what, why don't you just keep it and I'll refund you? It ain't worth the hassle.'

I have a strange buyer at the moment angling for a refund and I am politely asking her (more than once...) to return the goods to me. Yes, I could just say, 'oh sod it just have the damn thing', but it's not a good precedent. And I WILL block her afterwards.

80sbabe · 14/07/2012 21:47

LineRunner we seem to have come across the same buyer Grin
I had one recently who wasn't happy with "the look" of an item. I asked her to return it and stated I would refund her on return including postage, or send her a pre paid envelope for the return if she preferred.
I got a reply saying "that was not the response I was looking for"
I still can't figure out what she did want apart from getting a refund and the item Confused

maxybrown · 14/07/2012 22:06

Grin 80sbabe

I have actually just had a normal email from her Hmm stating she didn't realise that it could be so expensive sending other methods or that couriers charge extra for sat del or specified times, so yes please could she have a refund once the item is returned to me and obviously she will leave good feedback as not our Hmm fault etc etc Confused

She sounds like a crackpot.

80sbabe · 14/07/2012 22:19

maxybrown I think you deserve a medal for your patience.
If someone sent me a message claiming that about couriers I would have been tempted to reply "no shit sherlock" Obviously I wouldn't put it quite that simply though Grin
Does she think couriers operate for the love of the job or just for her convenience?
The mind boggles sometimes it really does !

LineRunner · 14/07/2012 22:23

I think it could be same crackpot. She sent me a message about 'our' convenience and value. Grin

maxybrown · 14/07/2012 22:27

Grin I did bang about the house a bit and shout " fuck wit" and things just so I didn't send it all to her, anyway watch this space I'd still say!

Don't worry about the feedback of its negative.

You can leave neg feedback on hers if that's how she wants to be.

I mean, how much damage can she do using 100 characters?

And you can always take it up with eBay if necessary.

maxybrown · 14/07/2012 22:31

Oh I'm not worried about a neg Grin - I've never had one but so bloomin what!

Anyway, anyone want a brand new king size duvet set? lol

OP posts:
tutu100 · 15/07/2012 01:57

What colour? I am seriously looking for a king size duvet set in either brown or teal, or something that would go with brown/teal.

LineRunner · 15/07/2012 14:54

My crackpot has just messaged me again. Apparently she needs a reminder of my address. You know, the one that I wrote all over her package.

jimswifein1964 · 15/07/2012 19:08

She is clearly mad. But I have to say I shivered as soon as I read 'Yodel' - they are a bloody nightmare.

PaulGil · 06/08/2012 09:40

MaxyBrown, Did you know CollectPlus has a Store to Store option, so that you can deliver to your buyers local store, and they can pickup when is convenient to them. The store will hold parcels up to 10 days!

Sounds like if you would have given your buyer this option, she could have collected it herself when was convenient to her!

It is only £3.49 up to 10kg! www.collectplus.co.uk/send
