I returned an item and no refund

I bought a pair of shoes from a business seller. They were clearly seconds as when they arrived one sole was warped so badly that it made them unwearable.

As per instructions I returned the shoes signed-for; I e-mailed beforehand to tell the seller I was going to do this. Now two weeks later there is no refund and no response to my e-mails. What should I do next? (Btw they were quite expensive - I'm not making a fuss over a 99p purchase!)

Presumably you've checked that they arrived OK. If so I would open a case against the seller which will give them four days to respond and hopefully that will push them into sorting out a refund.

Is their feedback OK? Might be worth checking to see if they are on holiday and have closed the shop.

Ah, they have just replied (perhaps they're on MN!). They have told me to open a return case and then they will refund.

all returns should be approved beforehand and a return slip enclosed once return agreed as otherwise if though it arrives signed for they have no idea it is from you

you should have open a return case before returning them to be honest; it is simple and striaghtforward

All's well that ends well: the seller refunded promptly. Their return instructions was to send an e-mail first, which I did - I didn't know about the return case. I do now!
