What do I do about not receiving an item?

I ordered a part for my broken phone last week, the seller said he'd posted it on Thursday, first class.

I've still not received it :(

I've just asked him if it was recorded, tracked etc.

What do I do if it doesn't arrive?
How long do I wait before doing something?

Thanks :)

Has the seller replied yet ?
Is it possible they could send a duplicate out to you?
You can open an item not received case in the resolution centre and request a refund.
I'd give the seller a chance to respond first before opening a case but if it's been over a week then you could open one anyway. You have 45 days from the purchase date to open a dispute.
Wait and see how the seller responds before you leave any feedback.

He's not replied yet. I need this part, I miss mumsnetting my phone.
But I would accept a replacement off him.

I've just never not received something before, so not sure how it goes.

Ebay will certainly ensure you get a refund if you open a case and the item isn't received or the seller can't / won't replace it.
You don't need to worry about getting your money back unless you leave it more than 45 days.

It's a very straightforward procedure, but unless your seller has feedback that suggests they are unreliable I would give them an opportunity to resolve it directly first. A day or so should be long enough before you open a case.

Missing items are frustrating for both buyers and sellers but unfortunately they do sometimes occur. It is a pain though especially when you need something quickly.
