Good couriers to use for Ebay.

We've been using Hermes and they were excellent up until a couple of weekends ago when their service started to get sloppy. When we were trying to book collection rather than next day pick up we were getting waits of 2 or 3 days. This Sunday for example during the night we booked in a load of parcels and they are going to picked up today, Tuesday and Wednesday and then back to Tuesday again.

So can anyone recommend a really good courier please?

I use Collect Plus - handy if there is a local drop off and then you don't need to wait for courier to turn up too.

I use mostly City Link, but go through Parcel Monkey to find the cheapest. I've only had one problem with City Link...they had a different driver on the route who couldn't find my house (but didn't bother to try contacting me) but when I phoned to sort it out the people on the helplines were very friendly and helpful, despite it taking three days, I have used them since with no more problems.

I have had problems with City Link unfortunatly (not as an Ebayer though I will admit.)

It's a pain because I have struck up a rapor with the lady who collects them and she is always here for 9ish. But it was daft this morning as she picked up the 1 parcel and the other half dozen are sat here packed and waiting to go by the door.

I tend to use senditnow, I know it costs more but for anything worth a bit I use them. The insurance is better.

Otherwise just parcel2go and whoever is cheapest. But I don't send an awful lot of stuff, just once every few months, so I don't need consistency so much.

I'll tell you who I like getting parcels FROM and that's DPD - they used to be rubbish but now they email you with a time slot, and always turn up at the start of that slot, which is brilliant.

I dunno if you have to pay a premium for this as it's only big companies that seem to use them.

City Sprint are very very good afaik as well but are more specialised and less mainstream.

Hate to be a pain but all of those are £3 to £5 more expensive than MyHermes. Are they really the cheapest on the market?

collect plus cheapest upto 5-6 kg after that myhermes I book via parcel2go as it tells you whether collect+ or my hermes or indeedanyone else is cheaper

I second collectplus as I drop it off to the collection point instead of waiting till they come to me.
Takes 3-5 days but is reasonably priced
