Is there something in the air at the moment!? (non payers)

I currently have SEVEN non payers! Bear in mind I'm not even an eBay business. Merely a hobbyist and haven't even listed huge amounts lately!!
Starting to think something weird's going on! Confused
They are all different bidders though.

it's too bizarre. And annoying. About half my items, not paid for. And reading most of their feedback, they're not going to pay up. Also people taking ages to pay and then if i take a few days to send, sending me stroppy messages asking where their item is...

Agree completely. I've had more non-payers/slow payers in the last couple of months than in the last 10 years of selling on ebay (I'm not a shop)
Also I've had one who raised a Papyal dispute to say that she hadn't received an item which is very suspicious when I read back her feedback and the story complete lies she's given me. I've also had to send something back to a seller this week because it was scratched and filthy - they've confirmed receipt but still haven't refunded me. GRRRRR Angry
I think mumsnet should set up its own version of eBay because we're all so honest and pay up quickly!

Had my first ever non pay (dont sell much, mostly buy).

His trick (and I am sure it was some piss take) was to snipe bid in the last couple of seconds so I couldnt remove him. He had no feedback and joined the same day. Ebay say you can specifiy no to bidders with no feedback, but this will not stop them bidding BUT you can then remove them. Of course if they do it with 2 seconds to go youre stuffed!!

Had genuine bidders outbid and having to wait 8 days to 'second offer' it. Have also offered to knock off postage as I feel guilty theyve been messed about. Can't be bothered to relist!

Personally have rarely had problems with ebay. Sad

one just emailed and said she'd pay end of next week (that's two weeks late) the others i would think are non hopers as sellers are saying they've not paid up., on their feedback. I listed all this stuff as really need the money right now! Also if they did pay up in next week, i'm not around to send the stuff! so annoying

Set up Unpaid Item Assistant on your listings. It will automatically open a NPB case on Day 4 (this may be different for some people, I am a Business Seller and it's Day 4 for me) and close it on Day 8, refunding your fees, auto-relisting your item and giving the buyer a NPB strike. Since I set this up, I simply have stopped caring about non-payers.

Well, not quite, they still piss me off but at least I don't have to do anything about them now Grin .

7 people adds up to about £100! that's a lot of money to me right now. I was counting on it. Some i can offer to next bidder but some there were only one bid. It's so much faffing around when was hoping to have the money in my pocket this week.

lolo. feel for you. I have second chanced my item today, despite officially having to wait til tomorrow. I have done as flouncy suggested.
