I have a shite e-bay name, as I registered just to buy one thing, they ended up eventually selling, wish I had given it a bit more thought tbh.

I am registering an account for my mum today, what kind of name inspires confidence?

Or does it make naff all difference, providing it not something like Iwillripyouoff Grin Now I've typed this it has occured to me that I never really notice sellers names, does it matter?

That's all a bit rambly isn't it? Will be very impressed if you can be arsed to reply Grin

I usually try to go for a name that has a connection with what I am selling.
I avoid, or at least raise an eyebrow at names like b163tta (don't ask me why, just too many years on the net :)

You can change your name btw. I think it's worth going for a good name, well, you never know :)

I've got a stupid Ebay name too, a very 'hun' type name and it was like my old Babycentre user name from the very old days Blush but I have only ever sold one thing and buy very occasionally so I am sticking with it

you can change your eBay name if you are not happy with it

GobblersKnob · 29/06/2012 11:34

Hmm, mine is a bit 'hun-y' too Grin

I didn't know you could change it, is that not considered a bit shady?

nope, nothing shady about changing your name. It clearly shows on your account if your name has changed - there is nothing furtive about it at all.

I never paid much attention to names of buyers/sellers tbh until some wanker called ketrotter bought my item....no feedback, joined same day, sniped bid and heard nothing since!

Def go for a reliable sounding name Grin
