I am thinking of selling my car on ebay as have tried gumtree with no sucess. Does anyone know what the fees for this are? Is it a one off price and is there final valuation fees and if so what percentage. Thanks

It depends how much it sells for, but the fee structure is here: fee table

we sold my last car on ebay its fine, you can sell as classified ad costs more but no final value fee

auction cheaper fee upto 12 photos final value fee is 10% but has a max of about £50

unlike other ebay auctions it is much easier to end listing early to someone who comes to view in fact if decent cash offer you would be silly not to, there is actually a form for ending to sell at negogiated price rather than high bidder,

most people do not snipe cars as often sold before auction ends

it is useful to include a mobile number so people can ask questions as if you do not write about 3 pages mentioning every stone chip someone may come say not as described and disappear without paying then you have to relist

car buying is not like buying clothes on ebay the wionning bidder is only going to buy if it fits description, if they arrive and find fault you did not mention you will need to take less or lose sale

so mention all faults etc, make sure you fill in V5 and post it, you do not need to double check identity/ address etc, just get cash on a weekday so you can go straight to bank, immediate bank transfer which is not reversable
