How long do you allow a seller to make the payment please? Is their an Ebay rule?

I open a dispute if they haven't paid by day 4, then close 4 days later if no payment made. I can't see any point in waiting any longer than that.

I used to give a week, send gentle reminders, then a firm reminder, the open a case.....but found it got me nowhere!! Now I do as Fergoose says, and 'non-payers' mostly pay as soon as the case is opened. Very irritating though.

I send a polite reminder after 72 hours asking to pay within the next 24 hours to avoid a case being opened, and then open a case after 4 days if no payment.

ebay rules say four days to pay,

i tend to send reminder on day 3 and open case on day 5-7 though never on weekend or bank holiday, as Bread said most pay within hours of case been opened
