postage question - what counts as large letter / small packet?

i think i may have underestimated postage, by about 70p per item Sad as a small A5 jiffy bag (not stuffed to the hilt) last week cost me £2.20 to post Shock.

how big is large letter - A4 size? or does it go by weight too? our post office seems to be very random in its charges, and i want to keep costs down as low as possible! i dont make anything on postage (i refund if i charge too much) but i dont want to be out of pocket for an item that went for 99p Shock.

It's all about length, depth and weight it should all be on the royal mail website. Prices have risen again though it's so expensive

thank you. think i will be slightly worse off on a few items. beginning to wonder if ebay is worth it at the moment - items (boden, white stuff, mini boden etc) just not generating any interest out there Confused

I think lots of people are using the Facebook local selling groups instead. Then you get what you want for it and there's no fees or hassle with posting

As it turned out, I overcharged by 60p - as managed to get items in an envelope stamp was 90p so I need to refund them now!

Large letter is A4 size and must be no more than 25mm thick most small clothes can be squashed to LL

I've found that my local post office is really good now at seeing if those smaller items I send fit into the slot they have to measure. I agree, nearly everything I have sold recently has gone as a large letter. I still use my poly post bags but the items need to be folded carefully.

Crikey SeventhEverything you're right - I had to check!! (sorry)
That's a horrendous hike I hadn't noticed - returning to Ebay after some time away. Angry
