upset about unreasonable negative feedback

I sold a t shirt a couple of weeks ago NWT, unfortunately the tag must have come off when I was packing it up to post. It is obviously new as the plastic size strip was still on the front of the t shirt. I got a message from the buyer saying the item was not as described as the tag was missing, she was disappointed as it was a gift ( who gives presents with the price tag on?) I responded the same day saying I would try and find the tag and post it on. I have come back form being on holiday for a week to find three messages form the buyer and negative feedback on a previously unblemished record. I have contacted the resolution centre, AIBU and what else should I do?

nothing really - unless you ask them to return it and you refund and then ask them to revise the feedback but there are no guarantees that they will

Unless of course it breaks the rules and eBay will remove it

I think you are BU actually. You don't cut the labels off if you're giving a gift, remove the price, yes, but not the tag and labels don't just "come off"

If the buyer had contacted you and then you disappeared on holiday, leaving 3 further messages without response, I'm not surprised they felt aggrieved

I am not a business, I just sell my mistakes occasionally on e bay, so it's a bit unreasonable to expect me not to 'disappear on holiday'. The tag wasn't a plastic one, but was loosely looped around the label with string.

Maybe Brightspark, but the buyer didn't know you were on holiday, they just knew that they'd complained and then you stopped replying to messages. How would you have felt?

Do you have a store? If so I think you're supposed to have a message saying 'Seller is away for X amount of days.' I'm an obsessive online shopper, I've always found if there was an issue and it wasn't from a store I'd get a polite message saying basically what the store message said.

I'd be upset if I bought a shirt, the tag was cut off and the seller didn't respond to my messages. It would seem like avoidance and I'd probably do the same thing TBH.

Sorry just saw your post saying you weren't a store and the label was a string one. Teach me to read without my goggles glasses. :)
