Is it really quiet or is it just me?

I am a regular seller, been on ebay for over 10 years.

I sell some wholesale stuff but the majority is my dds clothes.

Nothing seems to be selling for very much at all at the moment, even stuff in the best condition (i have 100% feedback) people just don't seem to be buying at the moment.

Anyone else finding this?

Starting to think it's too much hassle for such a small return at the moment.

I am selling my dc's summer clothes this weekend - Boden, Gap etc, all excellent condition. It seems quiet to me. Only a sprinkling of watchers. I'd be lucky if they go beyond the initial auction price. Will see.

Maybe it is the crappy summer and people are not really buying summer clothes.

PoppyWearer · 23/06/2012 21:15

Really quiet, have given up for the "summer" and will try again from September!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 23/06/2012 21:17

I am selling Boden, Next ect too...some items have gone for 99p, that never happens!

I have listing ending today.

My Boden didn't sell!

That's quiet

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 23/06/2012 21:47

That sums it up Chablis it's not worth the hassle at the moment, think I'll end tomorrows bits early and leave it a while.

I agree its really quiet - I have had no takers for any of my stuff recently

WoahNelly · 23/06/2012 21:52

I don't think the hike in postal charges has helped - seems to cost a bomb to send stuff out these days

blueshoes · 23/06/2012 22:35

Maybe I will pick up a few bargains on eBay then!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 23/06/2012 22:45

I have just made £17.92 on items i would have expected to get in the region of £70 for.

I have ended all my items due to end tomorrow, it's not worth it for that money i'd rather give them to the charity shop!

I think it is really very quiet, and I am sure the postage charges won't help. I think in general though so many folk are tightening their belts and feeling the squeeze. I wonder if the NatWest debacle would also have had an effect on sales this weekend.

PoppyWearer · 24/06/2012 08:23

blueshoes I've been looking for bargains and not found any, think people are catching on to it being slow and not listing as much. At least in the areas I look for.

PoppyWearer · 24/06/2012 08:25

Another thought, I'm finding the updated iPad app for eBay excruciatingly slow and painful. Could that be a cause too?

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 24/06/2012 08:53

Well i have just had a browse and nothing i want to buy is going cheap....bloody typical.

I try to keep my postage really low, keep everything flat as it's the bulk that pushes up the costs. My P.O is really good at helping keep costs down, they will always try for large letter if they can.

I'm going to wait a bit i think before listing anything else.

I think most people have bought their summer wardrobes now, I'm going to start rootling through Autumn / Winter stuff and get it all sorted and photographed well ahead of time.

cheesesarnie · 24/06/2012 19:02

its got stupidly expensive so i think thats putting people off.

glad i read this though, ive got loads of bits to put on but may car boot instead.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 24/06/2012 21:54

Well i have taken advantage of the situation and brought 4 pairs on Boden jeans for the dds, a tank top for dd1 and a top for me, all for £23.00 and they were new!!

It's all a bit odd!!
