A PayPal question

I sold something that wasn't through eBay, well, originally it was then it didn't sell so I put on preloved and the same person who had been asking me questions about it on eBay ended up buying.
The item is a pair of shoes. Lady paid me through PayPal earlier in the week I sent shoes to her via special delivery which I covered the costs for as a favour (we had negotiated on the price to include this)
The lady was so over the moon to be buying my shoes and was so appreciative sending emails stating how happy she was to have finally found them in her size etc etc.
She would've received them today and I have received an email saying that she is unhappy and that there is a fault with the heel (totally untrue, I am a shoe designer so definitely would've noticed if there was)
She says she wants to return them to me for a full refund.
I specified no refunds but said I would look at a photo of the shoe to see what she means. The photo was absolutely fine.
I suspect they just don't fit her and she's just wanting to get her money back.
Where do I stand here?
If I refuse to refund her will she be able to track me down through PayPal or in some way obtain my details through them?
I'm sticking to my guns here I described them perfectly

Hi, paypal can not give her your personal details but they can put the money on hold until a problem is sorted out.

What if I've already transferred it into my bank acc? Would they then just debit my bank with the amount again?
So annoyed this woman has turned really nasty now

AFAIK they will/can debit your account yes Sad

if she opens a not as described case with Paypal she will have to prove she has sent them back, and then Paypal will refund her, putting your Paypal account in the red which they will chase you for.

TinyDiamond · 12/06/2012 00:07

Right ok so they wouldn't refund her without me receiving the shoes back...hmm suppose at least that's something. Better than eBay anyway.
So for now I have left it over email basically saying that I am not willing to offer her a refund. As far as I know she does not have my address-could she get that through PayPal?

AFAIK i dont think she can get ur address, im sure paypal's website should have a FAQ slot?

i had a problem with an item not turning up, but bought on ebay, neither ebay or paypal where much use at refunding the money. i definitely felt they were on the side of the seller. it took much hassle before i got a refund. so that might be good for you.

yes if Paypal rule in the buyers favour they will give your address for the buyer to return the item, and once they have proof of delivery they will refund the buyer. I have heard that even after an attempted delivery a buyer will be refunded, but I don't know how true this is.

The other detail that I forgot about before is that the lady didn't use her own PayPal account to pay me, I believe it was her Mum's account instead. Does this make any difference at all?

no it shouldn't do. You did send it to the paypal address given and you have online proof of delivery?

TinyDiamond · 12/06/2012 16:52

What is online proof of delivery? It was sent special delivery and I have the proof of that here. She received day before yesterday

Oh I see what you mean the person who's PayPal it is might live at a different address-would that make a difference?

keep hold of your proof of delivery - just incase they claim to not receive them. Paypal would have told you an address to send the shoes to - you sent to that address and not an alternative one I guess?

TinyDiamond · 12/06/2012 20:18

No the sale was not through eBay it was a private sale so I sent to the address that the buyer sent me over email. I have yet to check if it matches the one from her mums PayPal address.
