How long would you wait?

Item dispatched on wednesday last week, 2nd class after 5pm. Not been received yet and buyer has messaged to chase. Royal Mail website says usually 2nd class is received within 3 working days (which would be today / tomorrowish) but the service seems to have been affected by the bank holidays as my deliveries have been late.

how long would you ask buyer to wait before refunding?

at least 10 days after posting second class even so if posted wednesday 3 working days is today RM aims to deliver about 93% of second class within 3 days so I would wait until a week today to refund but it is 15 working days before RM consider lost though i wouldf mostly refund buyer before then but if he knew it was second class a bit quick off blocks with asking

( my only question would be when did he pay if he paid last sunday and you posted wednesday he might think a bit !) but even if he paid sunday a because of both bank holidays ti would not have been collected till wednesday when they had all the mail since previous friday so bound to be delays, I explained this to buyerd and I think you need to too)

I posted two parcels on Wednesday and they haven't got there yet, although the one I posted on Sat got there today.
At least 10 working days.

Thanks - some of the parcels I posted at the same time arrived but others didn't...

When the buyer paid the listing said it would be dispatched within 3 working days 2nd class post, he paid late on Tuesday night and it was posted the next day. I did warn him that with the bank holidays royal mail may be a bit later than usual...

I'll message them again to comfort them. I was quite surprised as when I buy things I usually expect it to take a while unless I pay a premium for p&p.

if still not there refund late on tueday 18th june ie another week at least

teanosugar · 12/06/2012 12:57

I've known second class to take up to a week.

I don't think the post office class it as missing until after three weeks.

Ha! So email from bay this am says she tried to open a case against me on Monday (!) but it was too early!

Lordy. Even some tracked items at the same time I sent hadn't been delivered, it's not my fault the post is slow. The listing said second class to keep costs to buyer down...

steel yourself for negative feedback from this unreasonable person........ no amount of explaining is going to work,

ebay give an expected delivery slot based on your dispatch time say 3 days and second class mail 3-5 days so would expect delivery 6-8 days after payment, you can not open a non arrival case until after expected date of delivery has passed i believe
