Item I'm selling is collection only-someone had emailed to ask if they can check it out first?

ok so I have an auction due to end Saturday- have had an email to say potential buyers paypal not working so can they pay in cash (fine with that as I think thats what you're supposed to do?) But also mail says can I meet you and see the item ?? I take it they mean that if they don't like the look of it they won't bother paying but I'll have finished the auction at that stage iyswim - Help I am

let them view it but don't end the auction yet then?

And yes, cash only for collection, never paypal

thanks! I think buyer means that if they win the auction they'll come round and make the decision at that point. Don't suppose there's a whole lot I can do about it! I just mailed back to say we'd arrange something if she wins the auction -the downside of collection only items..

Oh OK no then - viewing before the auction end is fine but changing their mind after the auction ended is not, and their bid is final and legally binding.

Can I just but in and ask why no pay pal when collecting an item? I have sold an item and the buyer is collecting tonight. Would be useful to know. I am a eBay seller virgin!

Because the buyer might turn round and say they haven't got the item and you can't prove it. Paypal will then refund them the money.

I've got back in touch with buyer and offered to let them view in advance, also advised that the contract is binding once its been bought.. which is great to know from my point of view as I have a few collection onlys up at the mo. Also good to know about cash only in these cases. Off now to put note to this effect on the listings :)
