paypal transfer time to bank (express if I pay £5) - how long?

hello. I have just sold a lot of clothing items so have now got £300 in paypal account which I would rather like to have quickly! I was just about to transfer to my bank with normally takes about 4 days I think and noticed there is an option to pay £5 for express transfer (1-2 days). Does anybody have experiecne of whether this works. I have loads on over the next week so could do with the cash in a dash :)

With the new Faster Payments system running in banks, the normal one only seems to take 2 days to my bank (HSBC) so I wouldn't bother with paying for the faster one - unless I knew there was a time critical element i.e. a large bill going out that would take me over drawn.

hello - got an update on this. I paid the £5 fee as I was desperate to get my hands on the cash - and the money was in my bank account within an hour - so they must be using faster payments - although dont know why they cant use this as standard - would be good wouldnt it :). Kate

maybe i was too hasty in my praise for paypal fast transfer. I was so e impressed with the service when i used it a couple of weeks ago that i did the same yesterday - before i posted dmy message. i assumed it was going to be the same and go straight but have just checked my bank online and not in. phoned paypal to query and told will be in monday OR Tuesday

so maybe it isnt worth paying the £5 after all
