Problem paying seller with paypal

I have a problem with making a payment to a seller. They have never sold before. They have told me that they have a sellers account and say that they have linked it to e-bay BUT the payment is still "uncollected" and the paypal link states that the recipient is unregistered. They seem to be stumped and I have no idea what they have done wrong. I really want the item. Does anyone have any ideas what they need to do to get this payment sorted, as I know there are some seasoned e-bayers here. Please help me help them, and get me my new phone in the process Grin.

Hi, whatever you do don't pay them in their personal account / by cheque etc. Tell them again their account is not coming up and ask them to confirm, if no joy contact eBay?

they need to accept the payment - maybe need to add that email address to their paypal account. What email address did the paypal payment go to - they will have received an email to that address and there should be a link to click on

Thanks for the replys. We have looked at the e-mail address on the paypal payment and they are saying it is wrong address, they have told me the right one. How can they get that changed as I can't do it from this end and the payment still won't go through.
I totally agree that I won't be sending the money any other way, to their credit they haven't asked me too. Fed up now. It's been a week and till this is sorted I won't be getting my phone Sad.

you have to cancel the payment yourself from paypal and then you need to send money to the right address - using the send money tab in paypal.co.uk

or the seller needs to add the wrong email address to their paypal account and they can then accept and receive the payment

Thanks fergoose I will contact the seller and see if they can do that!
